(Notes for vintage 2018)
A deep, ruby red coloured wine with a dense texture leaving tears slowly slipping along the glass walls.
The aromas are intense, sophisticated. We detect cherries, blackberries, plums, violets and hibiscus, chocolate, cinnamon, butter dough, tobacco, eucalyptus, anise, as well as cedar and carob.
The mouthfeels start soft to be quickly overshadowed by the lively freshness, supported by velvety tannins originating from grapes and barrel, which gradually accentuate and caress us pleasantly. The taste is elegantly luxurious. Structured, full-bodied and with pronounced persistency. We again perceive fruitiness, flowers, and spices, joined by a note of pencil tip.
A wine that keeps pronouncing its flavours for a minute or more after its tasting!
This Merlot Turno will be a sophisticated addition to rib-eye steak fried in butter and herbs, accompanied by a crispy potato or complex Haut-cuisine plates with a more substantial sauce.
