Extractive, golden yellow colour with an amber shade.

It enchants with density, which we see when the swirl in the glass stops quickly, forming slow slipping tears on its walls.

It boasts an intense and lustful bouquet of overripe yellow fruit. We detect overripe apple, yellow plum and a fig, dried orange peel, dry yellow rose, honey, straw, thyme, roasted almonds, vanilla, gentle notes of butter and caramel, nutmeg, and a slight note of smoke.

Veliko rebula is dry, soft, with well-integrated alcohols. With crisp freshness and mineral salinity, leaving a slightly astringent taste. A wine of intensity that shows a balanced character, at the same time its youthful freshness indicates that it still has great potential for aging.

A great wine indeed, full-bodied, with accentuated elegance and a lasting persistency, reflecting overripe fruit, sweet spices and herbs.

Food: fuži with truffles, teriyaki salmon, also dishes with lobster and crab.

The Process

Vinification process: Early morning harvest, grapes are picked within an hour, then destemmed and straight on maceration. After five days we press and vinificate in barrique barrels. After one year Veliko Rebula is bottled. Only the outstanding barrels are selected (this year three).
Aging: 12 mesecev v barrique sodih 225l.
