A ruby red coloured wine with dense texture. We observe a dance of slowly slipping coloured tears in the glass.

The bouquet is intense, concentrated. We detect ripe berries, blackberries, cherries, even raspberries, and hibiscus. Nicely followed by scents of caramel, eucalyptus, liquorice, forest undergrowth and a slight hint of smoke.

A sweet wine of pronounced softness and fair warmth. At the same time, it offers pleasant freshness and tannins that balance the taste. Esenca is an intense wine and with accentuated elegance that reflects in its full-bodied structure. A long-lasting wine.

Suitable for desserts with berries, cherry cake or cherry strudel, desserts based on delicate chocolate with berries, as well with roasted prunes wrapped in prosciutto.

The Process

Vinification process: Grape's physiological maturity/ripeness is not only reached but exceeded - from selected Merlot vines - Grapes were destemmed and then macerating until the end of fermentation. When fermentation finished, we let the fermentation hat sink and thus we got a naturally filtered wine on the upper side of the cap, which we poured directly into the barrels. The rest was pressed and after a week, when the sediment had already formed, we poured the clean part and divided it between all barrique barrels.
Aging: The malolactic fermentation continued in the barrels (225l). After almost 3 years of aging Esenca was bottled.
